This 2016 film directed by Clint Eastwood is based on the true story of Captain “Sully” Sullenberger (played by Tom Hanks), who managed to land his disabled plane on the Hudson River, saving all those aboard. It delves both into Sully’s self-doubt about his actions, and the subsequent investigation. This isn’t an action-packed disaster movie, but a look at the human side of what could be described as a miracle.
Film Club members free. Non-members pay a £2.50 nightly membership fee at the door.
