Ostgut Ton sub label Unterton present their seventh release, Summe — an elusive collaborative project of Berlin-based producers. Conceptualised around the idea of a new “we” against the ongoing individualisation of neoliberalism, the group have been active giving talks, curating exhibitions and releasing records in the Berlin underground since 2013. They’re well suited to the idea behind Unterton, which Nick Höppner set up as a platform for releases besides the beaten paths. The EP’s highlight is its three-part ‘Schleife’ cycle, which is centred around nervous rhythmical patterns. Its layers seemingly run against each other, yet come together as a captivating whole once your ears have reached the necessary distance when listening.
