White Magic Wind on 2013 aastal sündinud ansambel, mis alustas küll progressiivsemate eksperimentaalsete meloodiatega, kuid kokkumängul on lisandusid 60-70-ndate muusikalised mõjutused ning hetkeks on sündinud just oma lugusid mängiv koosseis.
Solist Antti Lang on Haapsalu taustaga Helsingis resideeruv näitelja

The seed for this new group was planted in early 2013, when former drummer Marko and guitarist Mape of Candorloop aligned with keyboardist Tommi who had been around for a while, playing keys at previous gigs and engineering recording sessions with the lately deceased 'loop.
Once settled down to their new rehearsal studio, vocalist (Antti) found his way to the group, showing unmistakable talent and natural presence necessary for the lead singer position. He quickly took over his space in the mix, enhancing the sonic atmosphere with unheard-of elements of expression.
At the same time guys stumbled upon a decent bass player (Matti), who was willing to explore new soundscapes with a fresh new group, emphasizing desire to compose completely fresh songs while closely interacting with the existing creative minds of the core group.
As the ensemble soon stabilized, the group started to dig in to creative depths of musical inspiration. From the beginning it was clear that the interest in progressive and experimental music was a conjunctive factor, as was the desire to make a modern take on those sounds that had been shaping the prog landscape since the late 60's and during the golden era of the 70's.
Soon it seemed that personal and contemporary means of expression were transcending those imaginary borders and an identifiable sound emerged.
At this point it was clear that everybody urged to launch the project, so the band decided to start recoring their first single at the rehearsal studio.
As the recording process went according to plan, a feeling of something being missing from the sound arose. It didn't take too long for Tommi and Mape to figure out that you just couldn't do this kind of recording without a proper analog synth. Immediately after recognizing this, they found themselves taking Mape's older brother's Honda dirtbike to a pawn shop, and heading to the local Moog dealer in order to acquire a proper synth. One just can't do a modern prog recording without a MiniMoog Voyager.
(In fact you just couldn't do anything without it as the guys were soon about to notice...)
Back in the studio, it was immediately clear that this analog sound electrified the whole song, lifting it to new heights like a fresh spring breeze. All the leads were re-recorded and played through this magical piece of musical engineering.
Soon, ideas for the name of this new group began to emerge. None of the suggestions become established until the very end of the sessions, when all audio material was finally recorded and the mixing began.
As the raw material played along our heads, there was a distinctive feeling bordering something new and unidentifiable. Like a wind of change with clear and bright overtone. Magically all the little things made it sound just like we would have wanted it, without knowing it until it was on tape.
So it just happened to sound like a White Magic Wind.
