Jayne Henry has an unmistakeable voice.
Her depth of tone is smooth and smouldering, yet her top end is a smashing powerhouse that resounds of classic women of the rock eras. Noted by many as, “Born to sing the blues”, “a gift of rhythm and soul”, she is often likened by many to such vocalists as Tracy Chapman, k d Lang, Toni Childs, Cher and Adele.
Trained from a youngster on keys, she performs on stage as an accomplished rhythm acoustic guitarist with a self developed picking style.
Blessed with a true vocal range that spans three octaves, her sound is freshly unique and surprising, and her repertoire features her broad original database as well as classic covers from Edith Piaf to Lady GaGa - Neil Young to ACDC.
On her voice, Jayne adds: I don’t try and sound like anyone, I just do. People often liken my sound to a different artist every time I perform depending on the song, the key, and which way the wind is blowing! It is both flattering and frustrating.
At the end of the day, I just sing it from the heart and give it everything I’ve got!
I believe that I was born to sing, and I love it.
