CHRISTIAN MARTIN
Since 1995, Christian Martin has explored electronic music from one end of the earth to the other; from full-moon parties in the deserts of California to the thumping, dark corners of the London club scene. Christian followed his love for spleen-rattling bass to San Francisco in 2000, where he met up with the now legendary dirtybird crew. The dirtybird BBQ was the brainchild of the four original members: Christian & his brother Justin Martin, and friends Claude VonStroke and Worthy. They had a personal mission to change the landscape of San Francisco house music by throwing an epic free party in the park, based on their new signature sound.
In 2003, with nothing to lose and everything to gain, Christian bought a massive yet necessary sound system. This set the standard for a new era of die-hard dedicated DIY producers, all with productions based on heavy bass-lines, smiling faces and dance floor delights.
Ten years later the original dirtybird crew remains fully intact and as close knit as ever - traversing the globe, releasing records, and throwing the best parties in their wake.
SMALLTOWN DJS
Riding the first wave of DJs that emerged from Diplo's Hollerboard site in the mid 2000s, Smalltown Djs have played shows across the globe from Fabric in London to Paris & Helsinki, from U-Hall in DC, to Brooklyn to LA. With highlights that include a one-year stint in Las Vegas, and Sean White's gold medal party at the Olympics in Vancouver. After some production success with Smalltown Romeo (their collaboration with Shad "Boom Ha" was featured in the HBO show "Girls" and in the Jonah Hill movie "The Sitter"), the boys have branched out with releases on various labels including Fool's Gold, Main Course, Sabo's Sol Selectas & No Brainer of Berlin. These tunes have been played by djs around the planet namely A-Trak, Diplo, Toddla T, Sinden, Annie Mac, and more. With a bunch more releases planned including a full length, this production duo is set to do more big tings…
SABO
For the past 17 years, Sabo has set the benchmark for his peers across the world thanks to his unmistakable signature style: an irresistible Balearic fusion of deep house, tropical bass, techno, Moombahton, Dub, and disco. Sabo's extended deep tech sets have been praised at festivals like Lightening in a Bottle, Shambhala, Fusion, Northern Nights, and most recently, the Robot Heart bus at Burning Man. He is a pivotal part of the fast-growing moombahton scene, with the sound's creator, Dave Nada, openly crediting Sabo's early musical experiments as a key influence on the sound of today. Sabo's responsible for many of the genre's key tracks, which explore the deeper tech house inspired side of the genre, and he is a resident DJ at the legendary Moombahton Massive parties. In addition Sabo has remixed for labels like Mad Decent and MAN Recordings, and has original releases on his own label Sol*Selectas, and T & A Records. He's remixed artists like Dennis Ferrer, Gregor Salto, Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, Michael Jackson, Nadastrom, and Amadou & Miriam to name just a few. He has performed with Sting, Erykah Badu, Jamie XX, DJ Tennis, Felix Da HouseCat, Dj Craze, Osunlade, and Aloe Blac. He has mentions in Rolling Stone, Spin, Mixmag, and The Fader, as well as sites such as XLR8R, Music is 4 Lovers, Generation Bass, and MTV Iggy. Sabo has DJ residencies at U-Street Music Hall in DC, Grand Central in Miami, and Output Club in NYC.
NEON STEVE
They say nice guys finish last but that certainly isn’t the case for one of Western Canada’s most talked about DJ/Producers; Neon Steve. This peer-declared nice guy has jumped ahead of the game and is quickly showing why he’s held down top spots on Beatport, Juno, Hype Machine and Soundcloud hot charts, taken top spots in DJ Challenges in addition to being voted locally as the best Electronic producer in 2012.
Comfortable rinsing out everything from Future Bass to Drum and Bass, Neon Steve has developed a reputation for playing high energy sets that blend and twist conventional genres. His production ranges in tempos but he’s most at home working on bass music full of low end frequencies.
Neon Steve's production and remix work is widely talked about and has seen him working alongside some of the biggest and best known bass artists in EDM. Remix credits include Datsik & Bare, The Beekeepers, Rico Tubbs, Mooqeee, Herbgringer and Excision & Downlink (x2), the latter of which sat at the top of Beatport's Top 10 Dubstep chart for well over a month and was licensed to a Ministry of Sound Compilation. In addition, Neon Steve’s remix of Breach’s 'Jack' caught the attention of Mad Decent label figure Diplo and was featured on his BBC 1Xtra show.
