Over four giant evenings the Sydney Opera House Studio becomes a custom-built after-hours haven for 4 gold-standard selectors of impeccable taste each playing 3+ hour sets of dancefloor devotion, the ideal setting for one of the most influential figures in the Japanese underground scene and a true pioneer of the leftfield/alternative disco scene - Kenji Takimi.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Crue-L Sounds, Kenji Takimi’s influential Japanese label that releases cutting-edge, timeless works by artists ranging from Takimi’s countryman Cornelius to his fellow performer in this year’s Goodgod Super Club, DJ Harvey.

Crue-L Sounds’ eclectic output barely scratches the surface of the unparalleled variety in Takimi’s sets, known for exploring leftfield/alternative disco and pushing into deep, mysterious territories while permanently keeping audiences glued to the dancefloor.

Two carefully chosen like-minded souls play alongside Takimi - Nite Fleit bringing her distinct brand of chugging balearic and the goldmine of musical knowledge Noise in My Head, who runs his own meticulous label Efficient Space and broadcasts monthly mixes with the world’s foremost curators and archivists on NTS Radio.

In 2015, the legendary underground Sydney venue Goodgod Small Club came to a dramatic end after bringing Sydney five unforgettable years of sweaty heady all night music. Providing the perfect low-lit and intimate scene for iconic DJ sets from the likes of Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, Four Tet and Jamie xx, the Goodgod crew also nurtured a loyal Sydney community – exploring with artistic breadth how people united can forge a transcendent journey through dance.

Debuting their first 100% custom Goodgod job in the Studio last year, the city-side champions of taste + fun will prove stronger, louder and more eclectic than ever in their presentation of the Goodgod Super Club Mk II, the 2017 limited edition."
