As part of Sugar Swing's Lindy Harvest lineup, we are thrilled to welcome Katie McMullen for two fantastic sessions on vintage hair and vintage makeup! Anyone is welcome to attend this drop-in class, even if you are not registered for the Lindy Harvest camp.
When she's not teaching Lindy Hop at the Century Ballroom and internationally, Katie delivers professional services for weddings, photography shoots, and other special events. She has a keen understanding of swing-era hair and makeup styles, and has helped many a lindy hopper look stunningly vintage. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn a few of her tricks!
Thursday, Oct 15: Vintage Makeup
7:30 PM-9:00 PM
Friday, Oct 16: Vintage Hair
8:00 PM-9:30 PM
Each session is 20$, or $35 to take both sessions. Payments taken at the door.
(Lindy Harvest campers, your registration covers these classes!)
On Friday, and extra $5 on top of the drop-in fee will get you into the social dance following the session! So if you're dropping into the hair session for $20, $25 will get you the session AND the dance.
We recommend that you bring a few things to these sessions so that you can follow along and try Katie's tips for yourself:
For makeup, bring some items you use day-to-day, as Katie will be talking about working with what you've got. She will also be focusing on eyes and lips, so bringing any eye shadow, liner, mascara, lipstick (reds) and brushes would be great!
For hair, please bring your own curling iron -- a 1-inch if you have one, otherwise whatever you happen to have. We may not have enough outlets to accommodate everyone, but have yours handy just in case!
Take a look at Katie's Facebook page to see some beautiful work: https://www.facebook.com/KM-Hair-and-Makeup-1454094028180883/info/?tab=page_info
Katie is also teaching Lindy Hop at the Lindy Harvest workshop, and will be teaching the drop-in lesson at the Sugar Foot Stomp on Oct 17. Register to learn lots more from this amazing lady!
