Mono/Poly

In defying the laws of tradition, Los Angeles based music producer Mono/Poly (born Charles Dickerson) has managed to outstrip the logics of multi-genre producing. Known for his distinct madness of face melting bass, paired with his dreamy astral soundscapes of glitch-based hip-hop, Mono/Poly has proved himself to be a natural phenomenon.

His debut album, The George Machine (EP) was released in the fall of 2009 on Faces Records, which was followed by his first full-length solo album Paramatma (Tasteful Licks) in the spring of 2010. In 2011, Mono/Poly released Manifestations, making a strong debut on the Brainfeeder label, and it continues its heavy rotation being played by the likes of Radiohead, Erykah Badu and Jay Scarlett at BBC Radio’s 1XTRA.

Mono/Poly appears on releases from Warp records and Planet Mu, featured alongside fellow artists Flying Lotus and Nosaj Thing. His gravitational attraction to revolutionary sounds has gained vast recognition among listeners and artists as one of the hottest up-and-coming producers in the world.

Panther God is an electronic music producer and label founder, hailing from Miami, Fl. He spent his formative years in a small suburban town where he’d stay up late to calibrate his FM radio antenna, hoping to catch snippets of the Miami Bass stations transmitting Luke and Gucci Crew. Between the fuzz of radio static, heavy beats, and braggadocio rhymes, PG found his inspiration- his musical space to explore. He has since become an emerging presence in the international electronic music scene, having shared the stage with Prefuse 73, Flying Lotus, Bonobo and many more. His debut full length album Golden Changes was just released to critical acclaim on Outside Records, with the follow up remix ep out now on his own imprint, Circuitree Records. His sound is chameleonic, yet deeply rooted in 90’s boom bap Hip Hop with heavy influence from the more experimental early IDM records of that period.

Heavy Color’s music can be traced to the intense emotional explorations of 60′s and 70′s Spiritual Jazz, the non-stop and relentless heartbeat of Fuji, Warba, and Afrobeat musics, the haunting melodies of Japan and the oft kilter yet ever expanding futurist beatmusic universe.
Heavy Color creates ethereal, bass heavy soundscapes with live percussion, MPC mashing, on the fly sampling, vocals and synthesizers. Combining a soulful electronic hazinesss with the organic textures of African and Latin percussion heavy music. The live performance is accompanied by synchronized projections creating an interactive audio/visual experience. The project toured most of the US in 2014 and shared the stage with such artists as Black Milk, Ras G, Quelle Chris, EDAN, Radius, Beyond Luck, Nunca Duerma, Diogenes and plenty more. A new album is in the works and is due out in early 2015. The self-titled album is available on iTunes or Bandcamp.

The Emerald Curtain is the dynamic duo consisting of musical superheroes eMe and Samuel Paradise, two Asheville residents who fuse their equally laudable production powers to create their detailed electronic productions. Spanning a wide range of genres, from Downtempo to House and back again, their live show is a hodge podge of soulful, funky grooves and ethereal melodies, not to be missed.

Musashi Xero is a man on a mission to bring authentic, thoughtful Hip Hop to the mountains. With a unique, laid back approach and an older than his years personality and style on the mic, this is one M.C. to watch for 2015 and beyond. His witty puns and aphorisms seem to come from an infinite well, and are something you might expect from an older more seasoned Hip Hop veteran. Stayed tuned for some upcoming collabos with producer Panther God.
