Funktion One Sound

Acid Pauli Bio
Born in the 1970s/seventies in Bavaria (Germany), Martin Gretschmann started to play bass guitar in a punk/indie band in the late eighties. At the same time he became interested in the evolution of electronic music and its instruments.

His first tracks were released in 1995 under the pseudonym "Console" and with the help of an Atari computer, a four-track tape machine, a sampler and a little synthesizer Martin produced his first album "Pan or ama" which was released in 1996.

Around the same time he joined "The Notwist" to bring the electronic sounds into the band. He has been a constant member of the band ever since.

After releasing several records, remixes, even radio plays (together with Andreas Ammer) and touring excessively, Martin finally decided to start another solo project:
Acid Pauli, a club oriented live Set that evolved into an advanced DJ set over the years and incorporated not only techno and house, but all different kinds of music whilst always remaining on the dance floor.

In 2004 the transcontinental group "13&God" was formed by the members of "The Notwist" and the experimental hip hop crew "Themselves" (Oakland/ California) joined the list of bands Mr. Gretschmann is part of.

And as another new project he joined a little collective who opened a music club in Munich called "Rote Sonne" which has been the playground for international renowned DJs, live acts and bands for about ten years now.

In 2011 Gretschmann moved to Berlin and of course got well connected there into the scene that includes clubs like "Bar 25" and "Katerholzig". Also he started a creative collaboration with "NU" and the friends of the new artistic project of "The Feathered Sun".

At the beginning of 2014 "The Notwist" released a new album called "Close To The Glass" and started touring around the world.

Despite the fact that the artist Acid Pauli still seems in his early development, he played with his friend and colleague Damian Lazarus at the "Day Zero" Festival. Moreover, he developed a "sound performance" for an exhibition in Japan and performed on the "Robot Heart”stage at the Burning Man.

Let's see what happens next.

Berge Sahakian AKA Goldcap's roots in music are based in an eclectic pool of genres since his earliest ages. Listening to everything from classic rock, traditional indian, orchestra, and reggae, to classical, metal, west-african, and middle-eastern styles of music. Finally introduced to a decent electronic song in 2006, he decided to dive into DJ'ing immediately, as he has always loved to perform as much as appreciate the music that touches him. Having picked up instruments like the electric/acoustic guitar, bass guitar, classical piano, and various different percussive instruments, it was only natural for him to incorporate an organic vibe into his musical selections. Within the years he has played at some of LA's grandest venues such as Sound Nightclub, Exchange LA, Vanguard, Standard, ect. but his preferred parties lay in the underground scene; at intimate venues & outdoor events. Having played alongside artists such as Eduardo Castillo, Acid Pauli, Nu, Henry Saiz, Nick Warren, Sander K, Low Tide, Canson, Gab Rhome, DAVI, and many more, Goldcap's vision is to deliver an organic sound throughout his sets and productions which speak to the universal soul within us all. Also being a fan of poetry, films, ambient sounds, traditional instruments, and the spoken word, you will often find him incorporating an eclectic array of samples into his sets. Finally breaking out of his comfort zone with digital production softwares in 2013, we can expect to hear a few Goldcap originals in the near future.
