Join us for some gutsy blues dance tuition on this 5 hour workshop and evening freestyle. We will be starting from the beginning with traditional blues moves and paying careful attention to how it fits with the music. Musicality is central to traditional blues dancing, listening carefully to the music: its breaks, its stretches, its dips and peaks, its speed and rhythm, its light and shade, its mood and its lyrics are all core to gaining a magical dance connection with your partner.

However, in addition we'll be giving you an intensive tour of the various rhythms of blues, the dance as a solo and its open and closed hold among other hints and tips.

Total beginners to dance are welcome as we are starting from the beginning. Or if you are a dancer from another discipline, you can either incorporate a blues feel into your pre-existing repertoire, or completely learn a new genre of dance that gives you even more flexibility to choose which dance experience you would like to have.

We meet in the Bassment Club in Chelmsford, Essex at 1pm on Sunday June 14th 2015. Our freestyle starts at 6.30pm through till 9.30pm.

The workshop event will be gender balanced but the evening freestyle is open for all.

Workshop and evening event together:

1 person: £25 Booking as a couple £40

Workshop event only:

1 Person: £20 Booking as a couple £30

Freestyle alone:
Freestyle: £6 on the door.

Just 20 places for the workshop as the venue is a small, subterranean Basement blues club. So make sure you book your place in advance.
