O come all ye Staple! Joyful and triumphant! O come ye, O come ye to STA-PLE-MAS…!

The 27th December was once one of those days in festive no-man’s land. Marooned betwixt and between Christmas Day and the boom of the New Year, it left those of us that love a knees-up with a conundrum worthy of Countdown.

Approaching the point of irritation with our families after intense meal times and board game rivalries, we yearned for an outlet to strut our stuff before the sweaty, sprawling, stale celebrations of the 31st. We yearned for a small pocket of paradise to reveal itself to the regular raver, a cubby hole tucked away on the foggy backstreets of Chelmsford, shielded only by the shadow of the Cathedral and disturbed only, momentarily, by the rumblings of the trains. We yearned for a place where friend and foe could work off that turkey gut to the sound of ethereal rhythms from years gone by, dropped by selectors that thrive with the crowd in the palm of their hand.

And so, 2012 years after Christ’s birth, we witnessed the Second Coming. We witnessed the birth of Staplemas.

We’re back for Version 3.0 and by this time, you all know the drill. Except this time, it’s not just your standard shindig. Without revealing too much, we’re confident when we say you ain’t seen nuthin’ yet…
