The government is making radical changes to education with students and staff set to pay a heavy price, and here in Leeds we want to do something about it.
Join us on Saturday 19 November for an inspiring, informative day of action. The day out to London costs just £5 for Leeds Uni students,* which covers the coach there and back and breakfast snacks on the bus.
Here's just a handful of changes we are campaigning against:
- Tuition fees are being raised from 2017 with immediate effect, impacting current students as well as new starters
- The poorest students will leave university with the largest debt, with maintenance grants turned into loans and NHS bursaries slashed
- The government is giving itself the power to shut down universities and replace them with profit-making private unis
*You’ll pay a £10 deposit and get £5 back on the day. Students from other institutions and staff will pay £20 as LUU cannot subsidise you.
