On May 31st 2014, the National Park Boat Club will be holding their annual Jim Macdonald Sr. “Fish For Cancer” Catfish Tournament.
The tournament entry fee is $25 along with an optional Lunker Pool (single heaviest fish) which is $10. Starting position is your favorite fishing spot anywhere on the Delaware River and or its tributaries, no earlier than 7 a.m. Each angler can weigh-in in up to three fish. Check-in time is 3 p.m. All fish must be alive, released and be able to swim away after they are weighed in.
All proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Last year, the tournament raised $7,626.00. There will be a 75 percent payout to first, second and third place, the remaining 25 percent will be donated to the ACS. Lunker pool is 100 percent payout. We had more than 100 anglers last year and first place took home over $700.
Entry includes food, soda and draft beer from 3pm to 8pm. Anyone not fishing in the tournament who would like to attend will pay an admission price of $15, children under 12 $5. There will also be a DJ and live music.
This year we will be raffling off 3 prizes: 1st Prize- $1,000.00, 2nd Prize- Nikon D3200 bundle pack, 3rd Prize- Keurig K75 Platinum Brewing System. Tickets are $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00. Each prize will be a separate drawing so one ticket gives you 3 chances to win.
